Small business recommendations #1

Shopping from small businesses is something I loved way before the pandemic hit (is this the freelance equivalent of ‘I listened to this band before it was cool’?!), but especially with a year as grave as 2020, I made a conscious effort to support smaller businesses. The handmade feel, personal touches and impeccable attention to detail adds that extra bit of sparkle which you just don’t get from a generic, brown Amazon box.

Whilst this post is going up a little too late to order in time for Christmas, these shops are all-year-round recommendations - perfect for birthdays, anniversaries or ‘just because’!

Disclaimer: I put the shops in alphabetical order for easier reference. I’m in no way affiliated with any of them - these are recommendations purely from the heart!

AKA Wedding

Stunning decorations for any occasion, whether it’s a wedding, big birthday or seasonal decor. Amazing quality at very reasonable prices.

Bee and Bonnet

Welsh honey infused with Scotch bonnet chillies - a match made in heaven, even if you’re not usually a fan of spicy food!

The Gallery Wall

Uniquely designed prints with a wide range of designs - I have this one and this one hanging in my office and then also this one in my bedroom.

Law & Moore

For unique designs printed as posters, phone cases, t-shirts and more.

If you like washi tape and other bullet journalling/scrapbooking supplies, you need to check out this shop. It’s absolutely incredible. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Bonus section: Face masks!

Knight’s Handmade Shop

Beautifully handmade face masks with matching scrunchies and a wide selection of patterns, including Harry Potter-themed ones! I’d recommend the masks for smaller faces as the elastic band is quite tight
